Learning, growing, exploring....So, I took the summer off from working in the studio while it's being remodeled and played with encaustics for the first time. Fun little collages of sample techniques. And, yesterday I had the unbelievable privilege of hearing Patrick Dreher speak about his and his father's collection of gemstone carvings at the HMNS. Regarded as the most talented gem carvers in the world, their work is unsurpassed. Every piece is carved out of a single gemstone!
